Salad dressing

When T. was in college, he and some friends heard an uncomfortable rumor that the vats of salad dressing in the cafeteria weren’t regularly replaced.

So, they dropped a (new) golf ball into one of the vats.

Next day, they used the dressing ladle to check for it. Yep, still there.

Day after that, still there.

At that point they began to check for the golf ball less frequently. But never was it gone.
